Hi, I’m Jessi — founder of SwimMom.net, a Florida-based mom, and a lifelong lover of all things water, sports, and parenthood chaos.
I grew up as a competitive swimmer, so I know firsthand the early mornings, the smell of chlorine that never quite leaves your skin, and the thrill of shaving even half a second off your best time. Now, I get to experience the sport from a whole new perspective — as the proud parent of a hardworking, driven athlete.
My daughter is a competitive swimmer, cross country runner, and triathlete. She inspires me every day with her determination and dedication — even when it means juggling swim meets, track practices, and the occasional meltdown over forgotten goggles.
Why I Started SwimMom.net
This blog was born from poolside conversations, car ride pep talks, and the endless Google searches I’ve done late at night trying to figure out what tech suit to buy or how to support a kid who didn’t hit the time cut she wanted.
SwimMom.net is my way of diving back into the sport I love, while helping other parents keep their heads above water in the fast-paced world of youth athletics.
Here, you’ll find:

- Practical tips for surviving and thriving as a sports parent
- Honest stories from the stands and the sidelines
- Encouragement for those “is it all worth it?” moments
- Gear guides, meet prep checklists, and more
- A whole lot of relatable, real-life swim mom energy
Whether you’re just getting started in the world of competitive sports or you’ve been cheering from the bleachers for years, this space is for you.
My Philosophy
I believe youth sports should build more than just strong bodies — they should build strong kids. That means supporting not just their performance, but their confidence, mental health, and love of the game.
We celebrate PRs, sure, but we also honor the effort behind every DQ, almost-cut, and tough practice. My goal is to raise a kid who works hard, learns from failure, and knows she’s loved no matter what the scoreboard says.
Let’s Navigate This Together
Thanks for being here. I hope SwimMom.net feels like a warm pool deck hug — the kind where someone hands you a coffee and says, “You’ve got this.”
Feel free to reach out, share your story, or just browse around. We’re all figuring this out one practice, one race, and one heart-to-heart at a time.
Welcome to the team.
